The last dream I had this morning before waking up was so weird and disturbing that it continues to trail behind me as I make my way through the morning. Ever have those?
Basically, I dreamt that pretty much everyone I know was secretly in the business of grave digging. Huh? Exactly.
To make matters worse, several of my friends and family members turned up at my house, in their hearses of course, to dig a couple graves in my yard. They did so very sloppily and it upset me, mostly because my yard was being torn up and slightly because I felt they should have some pride in their work. Seriously, there is nothing worse than a half-assed grave digger, is there?

So, I as I said in my last Ask Erin! post, I will be answering most questions via formspring or privately through email. But, I will continue to post select questions here......Shall we?
I actually have quite a bit of experience in this arena, both in being broken-hearted and in being the one doing the breaking. Here's the thing.....it will get better. How quickly it does so is completely within your control.
The first thing you need to do is get outside, during the day. If you work inside during the day, make the time in the morning or during lunch (Or after work.....it's summer! It stays light late!) to go for a walk. Breathe deep, get some sun (but wear sunscreen!). You need fresh air. Trust me. The vitamin D from the sun, the fresh air, trees, life- you need these things right now.
Secondly, as tempting as it may be to drown your sorrows in alcohol, it might make you feel worse. Alcohol is a depressant. Also, you run the risk of drunk-dialing your heart-breaker and saying things that will make you feel much worse about yourself in the morning. Have a good meal and a glass of wine, if you can stomach them right now, but don't get trashed.
Now, the next thing is exercise. Get off your ass and go run or go to the gym or take a kick-boxing class. You will look better, you will feel better. The endorphins are gonna lift your spirit, at least temporarily, and regulate your mood.
Don't read or watch anything depressing. Also, no rom-coms. Go watch a mindless action film or a comedy that doesn't center around lurveeeee.
Clean out. Clean out your closet, organize your life, get red of clutter.
And if all else fails, focus on work and go sleep with someone new!
To ask me a question, use the formspring box on your right
or email me. All questions will be answered and some will be posted here in an Ask Erin! post.

Phew. The past month or so has been busy, in all areas of my life. Hence, the lack of content I have had left in me for the blog. I am finally enjoying some relaxation on the east coast. The first couple of days, I was a nervous wreck. It's as if my body and brain seized up once I slowed down. Now, a couple days in, I am finally starting to unwind. Those coils inside were way too tight. I plan on enjoying these next couple of weeks.....reading, writing and yes, even catching up on sleep. Hallelujah!

My very lovely and talented friend, Ms. Kerri Randles, is performing her one-woman show, Can't You Hear Me Knockin?, as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival. There are only 3 performances left! Thankfully, I have my ticket for Thursday night, as everyone I know who has seen the show has phenomenal things to say about it. I am beyond excited. If you are in the Los Angeles area, do yourself a favor, and snatch a ticket before these shows sell out too. I can hardly wait!

I have been thinking of pitching this class idea to the Learning Annex- Teaching You What Not to Do. I would be a stellar instructor. I could make a highlight reel of my greatest life fails, with re-enactment actors and everything. Think of what I could teach...Want to avoid 110 life mistakes? Do the opposite of what you see here! Looking to implode your life? Follow one of these plans! Oh the fun and learning that could be had by all, no matter what your angle is.
Do you think they will go for it? I hear I work real cheap. Where is the Learning Annex anyway? Truthfully, I think they could work on their name, somehow "annex" sounds like an afterthought. Come learn here, learn what you forgot to already learn.
